Dr. Speake attended Washburn Rural High School and  received his undergraduate degree from Washburn University in Topeka. His Doctor of Dental Surgery degree came from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1983. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry especially cosmetics. He is a graduate of  the LasVegas Institute of Cosmetic Dentistry and a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He and his wife, Rosie, met in dental school where she was studying to be a dental hygenist. They started practice together in Topeka in 1984.

They enjoy being outdoors around their home and investing time in their kids. Dr. Speake especially enjoys riding horses, both real ones and the ones under the saddle of his motorcycle.
